Lady Raccoons win narrowly

The Frisco girls basketball team took on Wylie East on Tuesday and came away with a 50-49 victory after taking a nine-point lead into halftime.

The Lady Raccoons were outscored 15-12 in the third frame to enter the fourth with a six-point advantage. Frisco then did just enough to stave off a late push from East that gave the team its fourth win of the young season.

Frisco returns to action Tuesday with a district-opening home contest against Wakeland.

Additional honorable mention selections

The 9-4A All-District volleyball team ran in last week’s Frisco Enterprise and unintentionally excluded a pair of honorable mention selections.

Wakeland juniors Sophia Samadian and Anastaja Jones were honored after helping lead the Lady Wolverines to a fifth-place finish in the district standings.

The two juniors figure to have expanded roles on next season’s team after the graduation of several key seniors, including first-team selection Hannah Hankins.
