From Staff Reports
Redhawks still alive
After knocking out McKinney North with a 3-0 win in the opening round of the playoffs, Liberty kept on rolling during Tuesday night’s game against Carrollton Creekview.
The Redhawks earned a 2-1 victory over the Mustangs after senior Alec Miller and junior Noah Eldridge netted goals for Liberty.
Lobos fall to Paris
The Little Elm boys soccer team was able to grab an opening-round playoff victory against Frisco on Friday after losing a 4-0 affair to the Raccoons earlier in the season.
The Lobos won a shootout after neither team scored in regulation.
However, Little Elm couldn’t make it two straight postseason victories on Wednesday, dropping a 2-1 contest to Paris in the area round of the playoffs.
The Lobos entered the playoffs as the third seed from District 4-4A after going 4-5-3 in district action. Little Elm ends its season with an 8-13-6 mark.
Turner bests Wakeland
The Wolverines couldn’t advance past Carrollton R.L. Turner on Tuesday, dropping a 1-0 game to the Lions.
Wakeland had previously beaten McKinney in the opening round of the postseason after sophomore Tristan Honaker scored the game’s only goal.
Turner now moves into a sectional round game against Parris, with the winner advancing to the regional quarterfinals.
