RoughRiders fall to Arkansas
Despite grabbing an early 2-0 lead over Arkansas on Tuesday, the Frisco RoughRiders weren’t able to hold serve at home, dropping a 5-4 contest at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
The RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, got a pair of early runs during the first inning when Engel Beltre scored on a called balk and Alex Buchholz singled in a run soon after.
However, Arkansas countered with a three-run second inning after a triple from Matt Long drove in three runs.
Frisco recaptured the lead during the home half of the sixth on a two-run homer from Chris McGuiness that scored Jurickson Profar.
Arkansas then tied it in the seventh and took the lead during the top of the ninth to earn the one-run win over the RoughRiders.
Frisco will return to action today against Corpus Christi. Those two teams will battle in a 7:05 p.m. road contest for the RoughRiders.

The change was discussed during the UIL’s fall executive session and became official following a vote from school superintendents.
