Golfer wins tournament

Little Elm freshman golfer Sam Rodriguez placed first in the varsity girls division of the Ryan Raider Spring Classic held at Oakmont Country Club on Monday. In spite of the extremely difficult conditions, Rodriguez shot an impressive 90 for her round. Rodriguez and teammate Shelbie Vergara placed second in the team competition. The next tournament for the girls will be the Golf Fore a Cure tournament on March 9 at Twin Creeks Golf Club in Allen.
